Ross Hostetter, Attorney-Mediator
ROSS has been practicing law in Texas since 1979, and has been a full-time mediator since 1989. Ross has mediated over 3,000 disputes and has substantial expertise in large multi-party commercial litigations, personal injury cases involving catastrophic loss, and matters where special sensitivity to clients is a factor. He is a graduate of The George Washington University School of Law in Washington, D.C. where he was Executive Editor of the law review, and holds a degree in psychology from the University of Illinois.
Ross has been recognized by D Magazine as one of the best lawyers in Dallas, based on an independent poll of 4,000 attorneys. He has also been named a “Texas Super Lawyer” four times by Texas Monthly Magazine and has been recognized as a “Master Mediator” by Pepperdine University Law School. In 2007 he received the Steve Brutche award from the Association of Attorney-Mediators in recognition of his outstanding lifetime service to the profession.
Ross is an experienced teacher of mediation, mediation advocacy, and the art of influence. Thousands of lawyers throughout the United States and Canada have attended seminars which Ross has taught or designed. In addition, he’s conducted in-house consulting for such clients as the Federal Reserve Bank, the FDIC, Chevron Corporation, the Texas College of Advanced Judicial Studies, and a variety of national and local law firms. He has been featured as a speaker at the international conference of the Society of Professionals in Dispute Resolution, and at dozens of professional association meetings and conferences. Before becoming a mediator, Mr. Hostetter was an AV rated trial lawyer in Dallas, immersed in a wide-ranging general trial practice on both sides of the docket.
